'Looking down' on a favorite spot, from our 7th floor lanai, in Maui.

This afternoon my husband asked how I'd feel about accompanying him to Hawaii in the near future!! He said he might like to go back to his favorite place again, which is where I took this shot in July of '07. Didn't take me long to answer him............with an affirmative!! :)

Johnloguk....this one is for you!!

I really love synchronicity! Last night as I was posting the pooch shot for Hillary, I had already made my choice for today's DP!

On Sunday, August 10, I was driving the road which takes you across the Big Island, from Hilo to Kona, when this rainbow began to appear! As I was taking the shots, I was thinking of the rainbows which you've posted, and that I would offer you this two-shot panorama! (The speck of white in the upper right is the moon!)
Hope your day was a touch brighter today!!

I'm heading up to San Francisco tomorrow with my friend, Rikki! My son, Travis--the Women's Soccer Coach, from the University at Hilo, Hawaii--is 'stateside' this week with his team. Saturday night we will be attending one of their games which will be played at Kezar Stadium (not too far from the Golden Gate bridge). Rikki and I will be spending the night at the same hotel as Travis, and the team, then saying our goodbyes in the morning. Then, she and I are heading off and meeting up with two other friends to attend a workshop at the Westin, Downtown. We're leaving ourselves flexibility as to whatever time we arrive home on Sunday night !!!

I won't be able to touch base w/ the Dailies until Monday or Tuesday! Blessings to all!! Have a fabulous weekend!!

I'll be working on 'Tent City' photos for quite a while!!
*************************************************************************************************************************************************
.........A Living 1915 Community.........
Located in the Central Coast area of California, Camp Atascadero was founded by E. G. Lewis in 1913; beginning as a community of canvas tents designed to house folks coming from all over the United States, and beyond, as they purchased their land and began to build their homes and businesses during the years of 1914-1917.
"Tent City" is a unique event, which relives the 1915 Tent City era. Our slice of Tent City life features local musicians actors, artisans, and historians working to re-create our local past as authentically as possible, including tents similar to those used for business and residential purposes while permanent structures were being built.
This annual event is a novel way to open a window into our local heritage; to educate others as to how this town was founded and colonized, and to gain perspective into how the early settlers lived their every day lives nearly a century before television, computers, and cell phones became commonplace.
"Tent City" is created by the help of wonderful community members coming together with contributions of time, effort, energy, skill, talent, passion, enthusiasm and sponsorships of money, services and products; transforming Camp Atascadero from being pages in history books to a modern reality!

I'm creating two galleries for Tent City images, and will be adding photos on a daily basis--until completion!!:
The Event
Now - or - Then?
LadyKatesPhotography > June 16

First and foremost, I would like to thank all of you who made comments on my Jock Strap!! I uploaded that right before I went to bed last night. This morning, with cup of coffee in hand, I went to the computer to check in on the daily community. When I opened up mine to read any comments, I almost choked on the coffee! I was laughing so hard...my husband called from another room "what the heck is going on in there!?" Sooo, thank you for the fun entertainment and therapy throughout today!!

Knowing I was uploading the J.S. yesterday, I saved this one for today!
I was working in the yard yesterday, and came across this snail. Very interesting.
I've made it to this point in my life and have never before seen 'snail eggs'. Have you?
(Do we really care!?!?)

Good night!

The Kiss

This is my favorite from our 'dressin' up the chickens' series!!
Swear to goodness...........as soon as my partner put the top-hat on this handsome lil' rooster, he very slowly leaned forward to kiss his bride!!
In unison, everyone standing in a semi-circle behind me let out an "Aaawwww!!"

Here's us at the last show we attended: Contender gallery

Johnloguk: I haven't had a chance to look yet, but I'll bet this one threw us off again today!

 "Poultry In Motion"
(Motion = The 'challenge' for this week!)
LadyKatesPhotography > Christmas Eve

My husband and I started our courtship in 1993, and married in 1995.
Beginning with our first 'time away' together, we started collecting 'christmas Tree' ornaments. Whenever we are away for a minimum of two days/one night, we spend some of our time looking for something we can hang on our tree. The vision was that eventually the only decorations on our tree would be displaying places we've been together!
This is the year! We've visited enough places to adequately decorate the tree with nothing else!

When we look for 'the decoration/ornament', we hope to find something indicative of our visit, with the name of the area, and maybe with the year written on it. Occasionally, I have to resort to figuring a way to mark them with that name and date. (I wrote the month/year date on the back of this one). We also have several that we've made, during a trip. We even have a couple that are actually the lift-tickets which hung on one of our jackets from snow-skiing adventures!

As an example: one of the many things which we did while in Philidelphia, was to check out the Liberty Bell !

Photographed this one tonight, in particular, after a phone visit with our darling Hillary last night!! (Thanks, Hillary.....you're really fun--and sincere, warm & tender hearted, considerate, kind, loving and talented!)
**************************************************************************************************

'Twas the night before Christmas,
when all through the house,
 not a creature was stirring,
not even a mouse! (yeah....remember, I now have two cats!)

Wedding Bells have been hung
by the chimney with care,
Knowing that this Christmas wedding,
will have a warm, sunny flair!!

(That's all for now.....I'm tired!)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Offerings of blessings and thanks to the many awesome and talented members of this DP community! Sincerely, this has been a great highlight for me during my 10 month participation!
BTW: Travis and Kimberli have enjoyed reading the many wonderful comments offered to them!
And Kimberli got a kick out of your wonderful responses to last nights DP of her at the Bridal Shower/Bachelorette party!!

P.S. I really do apologize for not being very efficient about commenting on photos; my SugMug time has been quite limited!
