LadyKatesPhotography > June 24 It's been a very busy week; I haven't posted a DP for a couple of days, nor have I been able to look through any of your wonderful photos, or share comments with y'all. Soon!! This photo came from a shoot I did on June 14. Previously, I have posted DP's on April 3 and May 23 which were practice runs for this one....then, I used "Fannie Flamingo" as my model!! I didn't figure I'd have as long to work with Colby! However, he came through with flying 'bandanas'!! I wanted to do this after dark, which was getting late for a three yr. old, but he revived when our daughter told him "Come on, Honey....we're going to go play dress-up with Gramma!!" On the way to the location, we centered the entire conversation towards him, to keep him awake, telling him we were taking him to a 'cowboy place'. We had brought his guitar, and told him he was going to get to be a country western singer! He was really liking this idea!! While I was setting up, Samantha was helping him get into his 'cowboy' clothes. We hadn't thought to try on the boots before.....they didn't fit!! I took some shots with him barefoot, but when his feet started getting cold we had to put the socks back on! The resturant was closed, and it's quite far from anything, so we told him he could sing his heart out!! Sing as loud as you want to Colby! Our mistake was that we had not taken another person with a video camera! It was one of the funniest things I seen in a long time! He put on quite a show! He was making up words to a song (we both really wish we remembered what the words were---it was funnnnny! Half-way through the shoot--rather, 'His Show'--he informed us that he was a country western Ozzy Osborne!!!! On the way home, while we were still complimenting him on what a great show he did for us, he told us "Well, you're welcome! My pleasure!" Then added, "You know, I am a country western rock-n-roll star!!" We're considering trying the entire thing again so that we could get it all on video!!! It would be a YouTube smash!! And, of course, Roxy loved the whole evening. She had her 'boy' singing to her!
LadyKatesPhotography > April 13 Spent a wonderful evening with our daughter, son-in-law and grandson! After dinner, our daughter suggested we go visit with the neighbors who have 11 English Staffordshire Bull Terriors! Two grown females, and 9 -7 week old- puppies!! It was a lot of fun! Especially watching 3 year old Colby, either chase or be chased, by a litter of puppies! The funniest moment was when this particular puppy jumped on him, caught his swim trunks with her teeth, and almost pulled them down! Colby didn't think that was very nice or funny! This is my first attempt at selective coloring; that was a fun 'PS session'! I had a tough time choosing my DP, so I've added a couple more in: my Contender gallery Tomorrow, I will be creating a new gallery in my Pet category: English Staffordshire Bull Terriors.
LadyKatesPhotography > June 7 Spent photo time today uploading into a new gallery. Johnloguk: maybe this will relieve some of your disappointment!! Closest thing I could get to poultry!! Big Sur Coastline Went for an afternoon walk on Wednesday while on R&R ! Greg chose to stay at the campground and read, so I took the tripod as a companion! This is a favorite area for me and my kids! We've loved camping at Plaskett Creek (across the highway from this area), and spending time down on this beach. There is a trail, and steep stairs on the right side of those bluffs. But we'd make a beeline for the far north (left) end of the beach; there are several caves to play in and explore! Well....when the tide is low enough! Some great trails, with incredible views on the other side, up into the hills! Was thinking of this community when I was taking this and several other SP's! Hillary: I had to squat down, otherwise the wind would have blown me off that edge!!! Figured if the wind blew over the tripod, the camera would have landed fairly softly in that shrub. BTW: I finally made the decision and took the time to enter the 'Artists Wanted' competition. Would be great if you could check it out and offer some votes, if you like the entries! http://www.artistwanted.org/TheQueen P.S. Some little glitches in the Sponsor's entry forms, but I am not waiting until they fix the problems in my 'Bio'. When you click on the 'view the portfolio at:' you'll notice some extra rn's (?!?!) which look to be associated with some punctuation. With that in mind, I'm sure you'll figure out that which I wrote! I do hope you enjoy "My Other Worlds"!!
LadyKatesPhotography > June 6 Back from the R & R along the Big Sur coastline! The time away did serve as a recharging of the batteries! I have managed to download the photos into the computer and only gotten as far as taking these three horizontal shots and created the panorama. Hopefully I can begin a new gallery of this trip tomorrow. And look through some of your DP's from the last couple of days. This is Willow Creek Beach. Stunning place to 'Just Go Be'! Has some gorgeous rocks, too!!
LadyKatesPhotography > April 24 Photo time today was spent adding to my bench gallery: Benches The first time I used my first digital camera, I spent a couple of hours in this park. I would sit for a while and read through the manual, then go try it. I'd sit again, reading some other pages, then go try that! This was May'05.

LadyKatesPhotography > June 19 Of course...I just have to do a follow-up to the DP which MyKey posted yesterday---MyKey's June 19 DP . (I was too tired to do this last night!) The first time I took her to this lake, (@ 7,200 ft. in the Sierra Nevada Mts.) was the summer of 2002, the first year of what has become an annual camping trip with our group of lady friends. This particular photo was 2005. Yesssirreee! Myki and I have taken each other on some mighty fine adventures! The descriptives thereof definitely have a wide range, and would include: spectacular, unique, eerie, sensational, incredulous, spiritual, award-winning, and certainly funnny! Thanks, Myki for being such a great friend! What a gift in my life!
LadyKatesPhotography > May 31 FINISHED THE 'RENNOVATION PROJECT' TODAY !!!! WOO HOO! Completed this particular aspect of the 'part-time job', and will continue on with a different aspect of it, next weekend. Inbetween now and then, my Knight-In-Shining-Armor has offered to take me camping along the Big Sur coastline for some much needed R & R! Halleluhia! We leave Tuesday morning!! Yes, I DID take the camera today, so I could take the "After" shots! (Different dress code for the 'part-time job'!! None of the Feather Boas, Tiaras, Pearls or Sparklies!) I'm thinking that sometime soon I will try one of johnloguk's 'two shots in one frame' treatment and show a before and after of the front. However, that won't be tonight; I'm tired. I need to go sit on the couch with my honey and have one of the warm, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies which I've been smelling for the last several mintues! (You know, we all celebrate in our own way!!) P.S. Hate that car reflection in the window....but oh, well !! I'll deal with that later!!
