Iris and The Lawn Goddess

The evening before last, I did a photo session with our gorgeous Irises and beautiful Lawn Goddess as models!
(She did sign the release form!)
I finally had the time to upload the photos this morning. I now have another goal: to add new photos into my Iris gallery!

I do like the idea of using the DP as an exercise in stretching myself a bit.
Decided to try something a little new and different .

Sidenote: I'm sure y'all can relate.....I was supposed to be cooking dinner!
And what was I doing instead!!?? Thinking of the DP I hadn't done yet today!
So, I looked around the kitchen for something intriguing.
This paperweight sits on my kitchen window sill; I love the light that comes through it
during the day. What would happen with the colors and light after dark?

While working in Shell Beach today, I drove past the Park and noticed a beautiful photo opportunity, which was a true artist at work!!
I introduced myself, and asked if I could take a photo of him. I explained the Daily Photo community within SmugMug; asking if he would mind if I posted one of the shots of him as my DP! He very graciously agreed!
This artist is Robert Morris, from Santa Maria (California); an incredible talent with his oil paints, and brushes. Any inquiries or comments about his art can be e-mailed to him at Rmorris365@hotmail.com.
It was a pleasure meeting you, Robert! Thank you! I created a gallery for you within my category of California Central Coast area
However, I have not finished uploading the photos yet! Probably won't have a chance to finish until Friday (16th).

The house he is using as subject matter is infamous in our county!
It has served as a model for many photographers and artists!
Two years ago, I entered a photo contest, with one of the shots I have taken of this house and was bestowed the honor of being one of the twelve winners! I have included that image in : Coastal gallery

Please check out another choice of the Artist At Work!! inContender gallery

Day 1-I rescued these gladiola bulbs when I dug up the back yard at the Renovation Project. These first two buds opened today! A very pretty surprise; I had no idea what color they were going to be! The petals are beautifully variegated.

We attended another 'Memorial' this evening :( This one was to honor darlin' Goldie, the mother of our fellow 'Mama', Vickie (aka Dougie!).
The 'Mud Mamas' were proudly and respectfully represented by 9 of The Mamas, including Vickie.

Goldie was not only a wonderful mentor, but also our most dedicated, loyal, enthusiastic fan!!
"We knew you would expect nothing less of us, dear Goldie! We'll miss you! But we'll take care of your lil' girl !"

Yes...this evening's part of the two day Celebration was 'the visitation'.
Members of her family decorated the room, and foyer with many items that were some of Goldie's favorites, or at least indicative of a favorite pasttime of hers.
They also did a tremendous job in displaying photos of and including Goldie throughout her life!

Bottom row L to R: Susie, Maria, Vickie, My own self (yea-- the only one to have her eyes shut for the photo!?)
Top row L to R: Julie, Myki, Sherry, Rikki, Joyce
I used a tripod and the timer.

Many of you DP community members have already met Goldie, as I have introduced her in two of my DP's:

While the camera was still on the tripod, Myki (MyKey) and I used the timer for a shot of just the two of us for y'all !!

My wonderful husband had these beautiful flowers waiting for me when I got home!
They're in a crystal vase on the dining table; the entire dining room/kitchen area is filled with their luscious fragrance!

'Spanglerhenge' Daylight Ceremony

It's been a busy week!! (Didn't get to upload the DP for yesterday until early this morning!)
I'm still uploading photos into the Mojave Desert gallery!

We decided my message must have been: "You touch them, you will die!"
(it was unintentional, but the camera sure caught it!!)

We found this particular area to have such a wonderful, powerful, peaceful energy about it, that we decided to create a tribute to honor such!! We played here for the most of Sunday; went back again for sunset that night; back again for sunrise the next morning! We experienced this area last year as well, and will be visiting there again!

My friend here wanted me to post this one like this:self-portrait!

"But Officer - - I swear I was only doing 50!"

It's never too late to teach a smart dog new tricks!!

Kamryn and Mike's Bulldog, Margie, and our Cocker Spaniel, Roxy, were part of our Birthday celebration at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey, yesterday! They had as much fun as we did!!
