LadyKatesPhotography > July 23 Back from another MIA!! Just returned from our annual 'Ladies Camping Trip'!!! Oh, my, my! We did have a marvelous time! This is one of our favorite destinations; the reward at the end of a wonderful hike. Doris Lake, in the Sierras 3 image panorama, shot horizontal Am still unloading the camping gear, and haven't had the priviledge of looking through the Dailies for quite a while :( I'm hoping to do so tomorrow, and see how y'all are doing! They will 'choose their color' from my wonderful collection of feather boas!! (The solid purple, solid black, and pink w/black tips have already been selected!) LadyKatesPhotography > July 27 Hello again! This is the first chance I've had to tend to a DP since my return from our Ladies camping trip last Wednesday night. However, before I begin to share any-of the many- photos from 'camping in the Sierras', I have a much higher priority: 'McKinley'! Today was her time to leave this world; she will be greatly missed, by many :( My deepest spympathies and compassion go out to our neighbors, McKinley's family. McKinley was an incredibly beautiful, loving, wonderful, wise, sensitive, deep and old soul !! For our dog, Roxy, McKinley was her best friend and protector. I am very grateful and feel quite honored that we got to be a part of her life, and that she was a part of our lives! Thank You, Chuck and Lisa for sharing her with us! And Thank You, McKinley, for being who and what you were!! Much love, and many Blessings!

Certainly thought of you, managing to capture such wonderful images of pooches, while out for your walks. I was out walking, during my stay in Hawaii; this was the only 'pretty pooch' shot that I managed to get!!
LadyKatesPhotography > December 15 The Tungsten Challenge...12/15/08 The Challenge: Show us your interpretation of the word, "Tungsten." The Participants: Kre8ive, John (300m), Johnloguk, Creative Deviance, The Curious Camel, MyKey, Trevlan, and myself. The Result: Tungsten: A rare metallic element having a bright-gray color, a metallic luster, and a high melting point, 3410(degrees)C, and found in wolframite, tungstite and other minerals: used in alloys of high-speed cutting tools, electric-lamp filaments, etc. ********************************************************************************************************************** Yeah, Yeah, I know; it's boring! Especially compared to the submission from Trevlan!! But, damn, he beat me to it!! Had to go for plan B!! So, I'm in the hardware store, with my camera; took these three items off their shelves, laid them on the floor, and began taking a few shots. The 'helpful hardware guy' greets me with "Excuse me, do you need any help?" Me: "Well, maybe! Do you have any more 'tungsten stuff'?!" His reply: "Huummm, well.....have you checked out the hammers and drill bits?" Me: "No, not yet........but thanks anyway!....I'm done now! I just LOVE these blades!!" With that, I put them back on the shelves, and made my departure!

One of my favorite places! Might be able to take the laptop and use internet ( maybe I'll be able to post a couple of DP's!), while lounging in front of the fireplace at the Awanhee Hotel. But if you don't hear or see anything from me, you'll know we decided to stay outside and keep playing! I'm guessing I'll probably be posting some of the photos starting Sunday night, after our return home! Have a good week! Blessings!

LadyKatesPhotography > August 2 Still working with the photos from the Ladies Camping Trip! My daughter, Kamryn and I are always up for a good hike! And it was her turn to carry the pack! Behind and below us is Doris Lake. Please refer to the link to see a 3 (verticle) shot panorama of the lake, taken two hours previously, before we climbed to the top of this rock. (This shot was taken by our up and coming photographer buddy, Zac!) ************************************************************************************************ Now for the really fun and exciting news: Guess who's coming to dinner?!?! ALEX (K. Tiethof)!!!! (aktpics) I'm really looking forward to our S'Mugger get-together! :) We're not sure if he'll be arriving Tuesday or Wednesday. He's heading to Santa Barbara from the Bay area and is taking Hwy. 101, which puts him driving right through the middle of my 'neck of the woods'!! Yay! Don't worry y'all ! I'll speak softly, and [not] carry my big stick! (I only use that for hiking!) You might just see something from us soon :o)

I would have loved going in there; it was beautiful! However, I'm certain that it was much better for my wallet that it was closed!! This image is SOOC. I might like to play with this one a bit; I think it has some great potential !?
