LadyKatesPhotography > April 28 Yes....I missed uploading a DP for yesterday! By the time we finished that 24 hrs. of frivilous fun in the desert area near Ridgecrest (California), I was too tired to tend to my DP; I'm admitting it!! Had another outstanding day today; ending our trip by arriving in our own little hometown at sunset! This is what we were watching while driving the last couple of miles down the highway! SPECTACULAR!! What a "welcome home"! Took the first available offramp in order to catch this shot!! (Tough choice, though! This was right after a double rainbow which we also pulled over for!!) We did spend some discussion as to how difficult it was going to be to choose a DP for yesterday, and today!! Over the next several days, I will be using shots from this trip as DP's, as I add photos to the gallery.
LadyKatesPhotography > February 28 No photo opportunities today; this is another one from yesterday. The daffodil greeted me in the morning; this was my early evening!
LadyKatesPhotography > February 20 **Shovel Dancing** - - it's the latest! Today was another long day at 'The Part-time Job', which is a house rennovation in Shell Beach, California. Throughout most of the day, there was an Electrician, the Contractor's Handyman, the Painter and myself. My job, for a good portion of the day, was to shovel dirt into a wheelbarrow as I was leveling a small backyard area. The occasional rain had stopped ; the sun had been shining again, intermixed with big, gorgeous clouds. The other three left for the day; leaving me to enjoy the later afternoon alone. Combining the golden, warmth of the day and the job I was working on, the afternoon was in need of some really good music! Opening all the doors of the car, I turned up the volume and that beautiful voice began to sing; just to me! My music of choice was that of one of my favorite male singers: Raul Malo. I tuned out the rest of the world! I danced a waltz and a two-step (don't need a partner for those !) under the carport and on the front lawn, while gazing upon the scene in this photo. I stopped dancing long enough to get my camera out of the car and was hoping to get a shot to use as a DP. All in all, I was really quite happy! Keep in mind, I'm wearing grubbies, work boots and gloves at the time! I played with the camera while listening and dancing to the wonderful music. I was needing (responsibly so !) to finish up the chore; I grabbed my shovel and went back to the dirt. The rythyms were definitely helping with the work until I heard Raul start singing "Cold, Cold Heart", and also "Every Little Thing". Now, imagine as I begin to 'Sway' and dance around through the dirt....with my shovel !! (I can't whistle!) YES........it was a great afternoon! I will be posting a message in The Forum so to refer those members to this DP and the story of how I chose to enjoy my afternoon, and to tell them of the Daily Photo Community. Hopefully, The Forum members will come spend some time in this community and enjoy the many beautiful photos. And, also hopefully, many of you that read this, will spend some time enjoying the links I've included regarding Raul, his music and The Forum. Better yet, get yourself several of his CD's; don't limit yourself to the five songs incuded in his MySpace player!!
