While visiting my daughter in Capitola (CA), I went back to the Village to check out the spectacularly colorful shop which I featured in my DPs for:
 September 30 and October 10

It's a beautiful shop, with gorgeous colors, fascinating shapes and textures, alluring aromas, wonderful music and a superlative sales woman, Tara!

Tara informed me that the owners also have a one of these shops in Santa Cruz, being much larger in square footage. Next time I visit my daughter, I will definitely be making a visit to the S.C. location!

If you're ever in the Santa Cruz/Capitola area, it would be well worth your time to enjoy the experience of either (better yet, both) Om Gallery!!

Tara also informed me that they have a website: www.omgallery.com Check it out!!

I've included another image from the inside of the shop in my Contender gallery.

After saying good bye to Kamryn and Mike this afternoon, I took a short cruise through Capitola Village.
(two-shot panorama)
It was a very beautiful day, with gorgeous skies and spectacular clouds; giving me much to look at during my drive home! I stopped several times to practice shooting panoramas. I hope to post one or two of those this week!

"Tile Seawall Art Project"
The wall along the beachfront sidewalk in Capitola Village.
The tiles were purchased by individuals for $35.00 ea. as a fundraiser for Capitola.
The individuals then handpainted their creation of choice; to be applied as the wallfront.
GREAT idea!!

There is MUCH more tile covered wallspace than shows in this photo. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent
checking out this wonderful art project!

Make sure to check out a close-up look at some of the tiles in my Contender gallery.

"What could be better after a long day in the water than to come ashore and be welcomed back to land by local art glistening in the sun? Where the ocean meets the sand is an innately striking sight just the way it is, but to make things all the more eye-catching, the seawall in Capitola has been lined with a mosaic of brightly colored, handcrafted tiles. The public reception this Sunday celebrates the completion of this latest project from the Capitola Art & Cultural Commission. With 1100 artists contributing symbols that reflect the theme “Capitola Memories: Sand, Sun & Sea,” the community effort is proof that art doesn’t just flourish throughout our county, it lines our shores."

For now, it's back to the storefront window in Capitola Village.

I'm sure y'all can relate to the feelings of frustration I experience whenever time constraints limit (or curtail) my 'time with photos'; whether it's actually taking them, or working with them in the computer. Grrrrr!

At least my creativity is being expressed in yard projects! Maybe soon, I'll try one of Johnloguks two-photo collages, of before and after!?
Blessings to all !

A small section of a storefront window display during our after-dark stroll through Capitola Village. I was wishing the store had been open! I would have loved going in there; it was beautiful! However, I'm certain that it was much better for my wallet that it was closed!!

This image is SOOC. I might like to play with this one a bit; I think it has some great potential !?

 Hillary...This one is for you!

My son, Evan, is here from Hawaii!! He's at the end of a 10 day visit to his hometown area. He's had MANY people to see, places to go and things to do...and has done it all very well! He and I left early Sunday morning to go visit with his sister (my daughter, Kamryn!), her Fiance` Mike and their adorable Bulldog, Margie. We enjoyed a wonderful, fun time together; Evan and I were able to stay with them until this afternoon (Monday).

We took an evening stroll down to the beachfront of Capitola Village; Evan is on the right!
:( Evan flies back to the Big Island tomorrow. :(

This is an area of Capitola Beach, adjacent to Capitola Village; a six-or so!-minute walk from the home of our daughter! As part of our visit with our daughters, we all enjoyed a wonderful evening together watching the sunset!

As a sidenote: you, too, could have one of these charming, colorful beachfront cottages!! That is, if and when they come up for sale. The yellow two-story one in the right-side row was recently on the market for a mere 2.5 million!! That's because it's a two-bedroom!! Those in the front row, are only one bedroom, and only 1.5 million!! (However, that was a few months ago! Don't know about now; one way or the other!)
