My version of "Daily Photos" will be ever-so-typical of myself: 'A Different Little Twist'!!

I recently began creating this website, and I'm planning to use a 'Daily Photos' gallery as an impetus: one of my present goals is to add several photos per day into this website.
As I'm doing so, I will choose one of the photos to include in this 365 day project!
Occasionally, there will be days when the photo was actually taken on that particular day.
This will probably be governed by available time and my creative spirit!

The photos within this gallery are available to order as prints and other merchandise; click on the 'buy' icons.

I will appreciate any comments and/or critiques; click on the 'add comments' on the bottom left. You can also vote on the photos, if you choose; drag your pointer onto the enlarged image on the right; a box will appear on the top right which allows the voting process. Just click either yea-or-nay!

LadyKatesPhotography > June 12 CuriousCamel: this one is for you !! While visiting Aruba, a couple of years ago, I spent some wonderfully peaceful time at 'The Butterfly Farm'. There were many different varieties; each with their own delicate and colorful beauty! I was there in December; apparently Christmas is 'the season' for the Aruban butterflies!!! As Dreamhat so eloquently stated: "the Dance of Life"! *********************************************************************************************** I included 'Day 4/Gladiola' in my Contender gallery
LadyKatesPhotography > June 11 Day 3 - The Glad Hummer I need to use a quote from Shelly, which she offered to dedman yesterday: "Sometimes God sends us little gifts like this, and it creates such joy you just HAVE to share it!!" ********************************************************************************** As a practice session for camera settings, I decided to continue on with my study in the life of a Gladiola stalk. (LOL!! Kre8ive: now I can't make that reference without thinking about and envisioning your comment from yesterday: "this gorgeous flower stalking a bunny that had tried to eat it at some point!" !!!). This session was 21 hours after the shot from yesterday, and was being dedicated to bilroy! I liked the idea of causing an 'other than black' BG. I was about to call it quits (it was a little hot out there!), when this wonderful hummingbird arrived to show me how much they like Gladiolas!! (Thank you, Mom! I love you!) ****************************************************************************** BTW: Thanks, bilroy! I included two more shots for you in my Contender gallery. And Thank you all very much for the wonderful and generous comments and encouragement!! This 'community' is just really outstanding!!
LadyKatesPhotography > June 10 Day 2-Same Gladiola stalk as yesterday's DP, 21 hours later. This is SOOC, in late afternoon sunlight. The shot from yesterday was taken after dark, with flash.
LadyKatesPhotography > June 9 Day 1-I rescued these gladiola bulbs when I dug up the back yard at the Renovation Project. These first two buds opened today! A very pretty surprise; I had no idea what color they were going to be! The petals are beautifully variegated.
LadyKatesPhotography > June 8 Hey, Irish!!! Here's one for you! A quick shot I got one afternoon of MyKey in her front yard!! LOL!!! I just checked the photo info to write in what date this was taken: one year ago today!!! LadyKatesPhotography > June 7 Spent photo time today uploading into a new gallery. Johnloguk: maybe this will relieve some of your disappointment!! Closest thing I could get to poultry!! Big Sur Coastline Went for an afternoon walk on Wednesday while on R&R ! Greg chose to stay at the campground and read, so I took the tripod as a companion! This is a favorite area for me and my kids! We've loved camping at Plaskett Creek (across the highway from this area), and spending time down on this beach. There is a trail, and steep stairs on the right side of those bluffs. But we'd make a beeline for the far north (left) end of the beach; there are several caves to play in and explore! Well....when the tide is low enough! Some great trails, with incredible views on the other side, up into the hills! Was thinking of this community when I was taking this and several other SP's! Hillary: I had to squat down, otherwise the wind would have blown me off that edge!!! Figured if the wind blew over the tripod, the camera would have landed fairly softly in that shrub. BTW: I finally made the decision and took the time to enter the 'Artists Wanted' competition. Would be great if you could check it out and offer some votes, if you like the entries! http://www.artistwanted.org/TheQueen P.S. Some little glitches in the Sponsor's entry forms, but I am not waiting until they fix the problems in my 'Bio'. When you click on the 'view the portfolio at:' you'll notice some extra rn's (?!?!) which look to be associated with some punctuation. With that in mind, I'm sure you'll figure out that which I wrote! I do hope you enjoy "My Other Worlds"!!
LadyKatesPhotography > June 6 Back from the R & R along the Big Sur coastline! The time away did serve as a recharging of the batteries! I have managed to download the photos into the computer and only gotten as far as taking these three horizontal shots and created the panorama. Hopefully I can begin a new gallery of this trip tomorrow. And look through some of your DP's from the last couple of days. This is Willow Creek Beach. Stunning place to 'Just Go Be'! Has some gorgeous rocks, too!!

THESE REALLY ARE CHICKENS; ALIVE AND WELL! ********************************************************************************************* I disciplined myself away from the camera so I could use that 'photo time' for adding to galleries. And THANK YOU for all the positive feedback re:the Regal Rooster! I really appreciate the comments, and the fact that you took the time to do so!! I was uploading into the new Poultry gallery today and started LOL when I ran across this one! Just had to share this one, in particular, with y'all, especially after the Sleek and Stately Rooster from yesterday! These are called 'Silkies'. They are SOOOO cute, soft and cuddly! Just wait until you see the breed called 'Frizzles'! I struggled with the decision of whether to introduce you to these cuties, or----after reading MyKey's comment re: yesterday's Rooster: "Looks like you used your barbering skills here to comb its feathers prior to the shoot!"----to show you what he looked like about 5 minutes later!! I included two more shots of the Rooster in my Contender gallery. And BTW: A few minutes ago, I read through the comments on Rick Willis' DP for today!! ROFLMAO!!!!!! The delapidating 'house(?) in the desert.........OH Yes! Let me get started on that little project next!! (Mine didn't look quite that bad when I first started the project, but it was close!) I will be enlisting Rockymtnmels to do the window treatments, Hillary for the closet organizing, MyKey for the landscaping (maybe she'll create and dress up a few rock stacks!?), Karina to plant pretty garden areas around the rocks, Dreamhat to build a pond-then add water lilys, Banjon can create a psycedelic light display, Sparky can build the barn and windmill, Andrea can haul stuff in the truck, LyndonMendoza can create some beautiful lighting for after dark, 300m can record the stats, CuriousCamel can build the aviary and bring the critters, Jean-Yves can bring in the horses, LauraJohnson can come in at the finish to add the bling, Dedman can provide the fortune-cookies, Irish can bring Johnny to entertain us, Alex can keep us laughing and King Johnloguk to keep us in food and drink while we're working!! But I will need my R&R time first, OK?!?! Greg and I leave in the morning for Big Sur! And I am really hoping to do absolutely nothing! (or at least as close to it as I am able!) Maybe a short little walk to catch a sunset image of the beautiful coastline. I'll add my favorite shot as my DP for this coming Friday! Until then, let's get this crew together; we could have that place lookin' 'So Right', really soon!! Have a healthy and happy next few days! Blessings!
